What causes some practice owners to crush it and other to not? Why does it feel like some people are continuing to kill it at everything they touch or work on and then there are others that may feel they just can’t get any traction. In today’s post, we are going to go over that one simple difference between the two groups. I hope by the end of this post you will adapt to this one thing…change!
The Biggest Reason some Practices are winning & others are not… CHANGE
Change is hard. We all know that and I am sure we have all experienced that with our clients. When we go through any change there is a biochemical reaction in our body and brain which can lead to a freakout. Those that may stay in the freakout and paralyzed part of the change will do just that. Stand still and spin in circles. As an entrepreneur, you will face change daily. That is just a fact of owning a practice. You need to get super comfortable with change and learn how to accept and handle those freak outs. Either you’re gonna be paralyzed by change and you’re going to lose, or you’re going to embrace change and welcome it and you’re going to win.
Bob and Weave
I am not a boxer, nor do I have ANY desire to learn, what I am is a teacher and a pretty smart business women! And yet, we can all understand the words bob and weave. When there is something scary coming right at you, you move! That ability to adjust to not get hurt or knocked on your butt by the scary thing it valuable. This is a skill that all entrepreneurs learn over time.
The ability to adapt to change helps your practice to continue to be fluid and constantly grow. Think about for a minute of a company that is successful that did not adapt and change when Instagram came out. Cna you think of any? Even our local grocery store adapted and changed to continue to meet the needs of the clients.
Right now I want you to get really comfortable with change. What I mean by that is you are already there! We as helping professionals are so aware of what patients need and want that we forget how comfortable we are with change already.
- I see things that community need – change
- This program, class, group, etc. would really help patients – change
- People will still need your service, so figure out a way to connect with them- change
I have seen so many people who want to open practice and become freaked out by a change that it causes them to stay stuck in the same place for another year. I don’t want that for you! I want you to get really comfortable with change and know how to adapt and move forward with change. When you have the willingness to accept change I promise it will help you to take your practice to the next level.
Choose yourself and trust your heart. When are able to own that just watch what comes your way! I have been in your shoes and had to go through TONS of changes and will continue to face change. You have a choice- you can listen to the negative voice of the mind and self-doubt or you can embrace change and enjoy your dream practice! Embrace change!
How freaked out are you about change? Be honest!! It’s totally normal to be freaking out in the beginning process and I want you to have a safe place for support and to get the guidance you need. Join me on Facebook!
